Dear Market Vendors,

It is that time again! The 2010 Farmers' Market is steadily approaching.

There will be 20 markets again this year. The fee is $10 per market, which is $200 for the season. If you sign up to be a seasonal vendor and pay for the entire season by May 25, 2010, and attend at least 15 of the 20 markets, we will refund HALF of your fee.

The market will remain on Tuesday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the location will remain the same. The season will begin June 1st and run through October 12th. The Car Cruise-in will be Tuesday, June 22nd in the farmers' market area. We will have an alternate location for this night. I will advise of the location as the date approaches.

We will need an Application Form and payment submitted by the Friday prior to the market you are attending, if signing up weekly. If you plan on taking advantage of the Seasonal Special, we will need your Application Form and payment by Tuesday, May 25th.

Your site selection will be based on the order of Application submission. Those who submit for the entire season will be able to choose a permanent spot that you will occupy for every market. These selections will be made in the order that Applications are received. Those who register for single dates will be able to choose from those booth locations that remain available, again in order of Application submission. This provides customers with a sense of familiarity with our vendors and also sends the message that this market is going to be operating for many years in the future.

For those vendors who wish to sell craft or art items, you are not required to submit photos with your application.
However, we will reserve the right to request an example or photo if we are not familiar with your works, but we trust that you will follow the guidelines listed here when submitting your application:

  • All items must be handcrafted; no products may be commercially manufactured.
  • If you are a retailer of crafting supplies, such as scrap booking products or candle making products, you may not rent a stall location from which to sell these items. You may, however, rent a stall to sell any items you have made using these products. You may also provide brochures about the merchandise you would normally sell at home parties, etc. but we will not allow the actual sale of these items at the market.
  • All products and artwork must be family friendly. We allow only a G-rating, and if we have any question regarding the content we may ask to see a representation of it.
The general rules would be no profanity, no violent images, and no nudity or pornographic images.
  • Your crafts or artwork must be tastefully presented and of artisan quality. We are not intending to become a flea market that also has vendors of produce. The vision of this market is one of quality and uniqueness. We will also reserve the right to ask you to appropriately display your items in this manner. In the past, all booths have been absolutely wonderful and we anticipate that they will continue to be.
  • General rule of thumb: this is not a yard sale or flea market!

We have a vision for this market and are working toward it wholeheartedly. We want to make this market the best in the mid-Michigan area, teaming with vendors and crowded with families who have made it their planned destination. The more vendors, the better, so tell your friends!! We want a vibrant lively market!!

Sincerely,

Kellie Warner
